Owl Pellet Workshop
Join us in this hands-on activity to discover what owls eat!
When: October 6th 1:00-2:30pm
Rates: $30 Non-members, $25 Members
Teachers can earn 1.5 SBEC hours for participating in this activity. Please indicate when booking that you would like to receive SBEC hours.
How it works:
Your investigation begins with a short presentation on owls and how they process their food. Then you will receive your own owl pellet to dissect. Once you have collected all the bones from the pellet, try to reassemble the skeleton! Bone charts will be provided to help you determined what kind of animal your owl has eaten.
Know before you go:
Closed toed shoes are required for all ABNC programs.
This program is for ages 12 and up. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by paid attending adult.
Please bring a reusable water bottle.
We recommend that you bring insect repellent.
Gloves will be provided.
Cancellations:
Payment of fees is needed to complete your registration and is non-refundable unless the program/class/activity is cancelled by Armand Bayou Nature Center (ABNC) staff. If ABNC cancels for any reason, you will be given the option of applying the fees to another program or a refund. A minimum number of four people is required for this program. You will be notified the day prior if minimum number not reached.
If you must cancel, please notify ABNC at least seven (7) days prior to the program/class/activity. If you inform us at least one week before, we will issue you a credit voucher for the full amount of your payment that may be applied to another ABNC program fee or membership. Any non-attendance or cancellation less than seven (7) days will result in the full charge of the fee. ABNC does not give cash refunds.
